UNC Greensboro tops Appalachian State 77-73 in OT


Derrell Armstrong scored 27 points and Trevis Simpson had 24 to lead UNC Greensboro to its fifth consecutive victory, 77-73 over Appalachian State in overtime Thursday night. Simpson scored 17 points and Armstrong 14 in the second half, when the Spartans (7-14, 5-4 Southern Conference) rallied from a nine-point deficit, 41-32 with 15:22 remaining, to lead 63-56 with 1:28 to play.
